Mrs. Iva M. Weir, 63, wife of Mirl Weir, Crawfordsville barber died Friday night in Culver Hospital. She was taken there earlier in the day. Born march 18 1895 in Montgomery County near Crawfordsville Mrs. Weir was the daughter of Charels E. and Malinda Douglas. She married Mr. Weir in September 1912. Mr. and Mrs. Weir began housekeeping west of Crawfordsville where Mr. Weir engaged in farming until moving to Crawfordsville in 1918. The family home is at 804 W. Wabash Avenue. Mrs. Weir, a former beautician, operated a shop in conjunction with the barber shop of her husband for a number of years. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Rebecca Circle No. 2 of the church, American War Mothers, Gray Ladies and the First Nurses Aid to be organized here during WWII. She also was a charter member of the Friendship Club. Survivors include the husband; a son, Paul Weir of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Albert Hatt and his daguther, Marica who was reared in the Weir home; two brothers, Raymond and Ralph Douglas of Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Keller and Mrs. Glen Rivers and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the parents, two brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held at the Bright Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday with burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Rev. John R. Servies and Rev. CH Loveland will be the officiating ministers. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 pm. Saturday.
